Every month I’m surprised again how fast time goes and that my letter to my children needs to be written and posted! Time flies! This month I’m writing to my youngest and my second daughter.
Dear Little Miss E,
You are now just over two years old and boy are we in for a ride! You are incredibly and fiercely independent. You amaze me at how much you want to ‘do it yourself’. From doing up the zippers on your sleepers, to putting your own footwear on to almost putting on your own diaper you need to do it yourself. No help needed from us meddling parents! I keep reminding myself how this will serve you very well when you are older 🙂
You love books. This shouldn’t be a surprise since your older sister also has a huge love for books. You and her are a lot alike. You look very different but you have the same shared interested and love for reading and animals. Your favourite book right now is the animal encyclopedia. You love looking at the eagles, snakes, lions and so much more!
You may have just a small problem, you are addicted to your soothers. If we lose one you simply declare that we must ‘buy more’. Today I caught you holding all the soothers you could find (which was about 5) and saying ‘my soosies!’ I’m drawing a similarity between your love about these soothers and Gollum’s precious!
Drawing, painting and colouring are also favourites of yours. And most of the time you are not drawing, painting or colouring on paper – its on the walls, the floor or even yourself. If you find a marker its destined to be all over you in a matter of minutes. We’ve managed to eliminate most of the permanent markers around the house but every now and then you manage to find one!
My dear daughter you are simply a beautiful little treasure and I’m so glad to be your mommy. You love life, you love to love others and you have an incredible little mind. I know God has big things planned for your future and I can’t wait to see where you will go in your life! But for now, please don’t destroy our house!
