Victoria + Brad’s Gorgeous Spring Engagement Session – Niagara Wedding Photographer

Back in May I had the opportunity to meet up with Victoria and Brad for their spring engagement session.  The Queen’s Royal Park in Niagara-on-the-Lake was the perfect setting for capturing some memories together.  This was the first time that I had been to Niagara-on-the-Lake which is kind of shocking since I grew up in that area.  I’m looking forward to going back one day!

Although the weather was a bit chilly coming off the lake, you can’t tell because of the warmth in their smiles and embraces. They chose to make their session a little more personal and meaningful as they incorporated Brad’s grandmothers bike from when she was young in it.  Also the book that you’ll see in some of the images was the very book that Brad hid Victoria’s engagement ring in when he proposed to her!  Talk about super romantic!

Victoria and Brad have an awesome story of how they came into each other’s lives and they are here to share it with you all!  Stories are so important to tell and I love it when couples share their stories and a bit of their lives with me!  Photography is so much more than just a final picture, its telling a person’s story through pictures.

Our Story – told by Victoria

Brad and I met at a wedding – I vividly remember walking into the church and seeing him standing in the fellowship hall of the church. Once we had all taken our seat inside the church, my uncle took on the task of helping me scout out if Brad was wearing a wedding band or not. Unfortunately, we missed seeing his hand the first time he walked past us to his seat. But lucky for us, during the wedding, the guests partook in Communion and we had another opportunity to see that finger – and the fact that there was no ring on it!

Once we made it to the reception hall, my next job was figuring out if he was single. We had conveniently been seated only a few tables away from each other. I started asking people who that guy was. I was told “Brad? Oh, he won’t talk to you, he’s super shy”. Thankfully, my sister is not shy. She saw an opportunity when Brad was standing at the bar. She pulled me up with her and tapped his shoulder asking “have you met Victoria?”… Two days after that wedding, we had our first date.

Very quickly it was evident that we had found something very special – I quickly knew that this was the man I wanted to marry. Brad introduced me to a lot of new things, one of them being “Tractor Pulls”. It was on our way to one of these tractor pulls in Lucknow, where we pulled off the road to have a picnic in a cute little picnic area. While we were sitting there, Brad told me he had bought me a book (and everyone who knows me, knows that I adore books)… he went to his car and came back with a book. The next thing I know he’s got the book open, he’s down on his knee, asking me to be his “Forever & Always”.

Leading up to our wedding day, I think for both of us we are most excited about being surrounded by most of the special people in our lives.  But we are also excited because this will be the end of a long distance relationship– we cannot wait to say goodbye to that weekend drive!

Brad and Victoria will be saying their vows to one another on September 1st at The Lakeview in Hamilton and I cannot wait to document their day for them!  Congratulations to you both and I wish you God’s blessings over the next few weeks leading up until your wedding day!

If you are newly engaged, or are still on the hunt for a wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you!  Please send me a message and I look forward to getting to know you better!
